Dry January was started in 2013 as an initiative to give up alcohol consumption for 31 days. January is a great time to go dry and look at the health benefits associated with going dry. There are many benefits associated with decreasing your alcohol intake. Let’s just name a few.
- Better sleep. Alcohol tends to rob you of getting some good zzz’z
- Cutting out alcohol for a period can help your liver, heart and entire body composition.
- Alcohol can have a MAJOR impact on your emotional, mental and physical health.
Tips for a Good DRY January:
- Try significantly decreasing your alcohol intake or simply AVOID alcohol intake altogether.
- Challenge your self to find a hobby that will assist you in taking your focus off of having a drink.
- If you can decrease or avoid alcohol intake for a month, why not challenge yourself for the next month and after that the next month and so on.
